So you have seen the signs, you have seen the TV commercials and you may have even been told by someone to FLICK OFF. New Years is just around the corner so maybe its time to make a resolution to flick off this year.
For those of you who haven’t heard the hype: FLICK OFF is a movement to fight climate change by getting Canadians to use less energy. Simply put: we need to use less fossil fuels. The more we use the more damage we do to the earth, period.
So you are asking yourself why this is so important to us, flick off has allowed for a way to fight climiate change by doing something now, and like us, they believe that it’s the small steps that count.
Now if you’re wondering what small steps you can do, sit tight, just like the Suzuki challenge they are offering a list of very simple things that you can do starting this second!

TOP 10 WAYS YOU CAN FLICK OFF IN 2008!
- FLICK OFF! Avoid using electronics that constantly suck up energy while in ‘standby’ mode. Stop putting your computer to ‘sleep’ when you could just flick it off
- Install Compact Fluorescent Bulbs
- Install Motion Detectors, this will turn on lights only when somone is in a room
- Plug your electronics into a power bar
- Flick OFF water taps in between uses
- Clean Green by using green cleaning products
- Take a shower not a bath
- Use a plug in kettle or microwave
- Use dishtowels and cloth napkins
- Wash clothes in cold water and run a full load
